Volleyball team falls to Madonna in three games
The Olivet College volleyball team dropped a 30-19, 30-12, 30-12 decision to Madonna University this evening in its home-opener at the Upton Center in Olivet. The Crusaders (15-0) entered the match ranked fourth in the latest NAIA Top-25 poll.

The Olivet College volleyball team dropped a 30-19, 30-12, 30-12 decision to Madonna University this evening in its home-opener at the Upton Center in Olivet. The Crusaders (15-0) entered the match ranked fourth in the latest NAIA Top-25 poll.
The Comets (2-8) were led by senior Katie Schaum (Marshall), who recorded a team-high 10 kills to go along with seven digs. Freshman Sydney Kuipers (Charlotte) was next with five kills. Sophomore Jessica Petkus (Milford) tallied a team-high 23 set assists and 11 digs. Sophomore Meghan Smith (Rochester Hills/Adams) finished with eight digs.
Olivet resumes Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play Saturday, Sept. 17, when it travels for a 5 p.m. match at Albion College.
