Volleyball team loses to Albion in three games
The Olivet College volleyball team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College 30-23, 30-22, 34-32, this afternoon at Kresge Gymnasium in Albion.

Freshman outside hitter Marie Pierce (Climax-Scotts High School) recorded a team-high 14 kills for the Lady Comets (8-23, 3-13 MIAA). Junior outside hitter Katie Schaum (Marshall High School) was next with nine kills. Schaum and freshman Meghan Smith (Rochester Adams High School) led the defense with 11 digs apiece, followed by first-year players Jessica Petkus (Milford High School) and Kelli Roe (Galesburg Augusta High School) with 10 each. Petkus also topped the defense with 31 set assists.
Olivet, the #8 seed, will host #9 seed Tri-State (Ind.) University Monday, Nov. 1, for a play-in match of the 2004 MIAA Tournament at 7 p.m. The winner advances to play at #1 seed Alma College Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
