Volleyball team swept by Adrian in three games
The Olivet College volleyball team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Adrian College, 30-28, 30-20, 30-19 this evening at the Merillat Center in Adrian.

Junior outside hitter Katie Schaum (Marshall High School), this week's MIAA Player of the Week, led the Lady Comet (6-15, 1-10 MIAA) front row with 12 kills, and freshman Marie Pierce (Climax-Scotts High School) was next with 10. Schaum also topped the team with eight digs. Freshman Katie Fiero (Jackson High School) had seven digs. Freshman Jessica Petkus (Milford High School) had a team-best 36 set assists.
Olivet is idle until this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 15-16, when it participates in the Elmhurst (Ill.) College Invitational. On Friday, the Comets play Concordia (Ill.) University at 7 p.m. ET, followed by a match against the host Bluejays. Following Friday's play, the nine participating teams will be re-seeded for Saturday's matches with each team playing two matches.
