The Olivet College volleyball team fell to Hope College and Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) triangular at Hope’s Dow Center in Holland.

The Olivet College volleyball team fell to Hope College and Saint Mary's (Ind.) College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) triangular at Hope's Dow Center in Holland.
Saint Mary's (3-7, 3-5 MIAA) defeated Olivet 30-25, 30-21, 30-13. Junior Katie Schaum (Marshall High School) led the Lady Comets (4-11, 0-6 MIAA) with 14 kills, two blocks and 18 digs. Sophomore Shannon Hall (Taylor Truman High School) was second with 17 digs. Freshman Jessica Petkus (Milford High School) topped the team with 26 set assists.
Hope (7-6, 2-4 MIAA) beat the Comets 30-21, 30-9, 30-19. Schaum paced the front row attack with 11 kills. Hall led the defense with 16 digs, Petkus added 26 set assists.
Olivet is next in action Tuesday, Sept. 28, when it hosts non-conference Rochester College at the Upton Center at 7 p.m.
