Volleyball team swept by Kalamazoo College in three games
The Olivet College volleyball team was swept by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Kalamazoo College in three games, 30-14, 30-17, 30-26, this evening at the Upton Center in Olivet.

Freshman outside hitter Jessica Schmansky (Clarkston/ Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes) led the Lady Comets with 10 kills with only three hitting errors in 23 attempts for a .304 hitting percentage. Freshman Marie Pierce (Climax-Scotts High School) was second with seven kills. Schmansky also led the Olivet defense with 12 digs, followed by freshman Kelli Roe (Galesburg Augusta High School) with nine. Sophomore Sarah Geasler (Laingsburg High School) topped the team with 21 set assists.
Olivet is idle until next Saturday, Sept. 25, when it participates in a MIAA triangular at Hope College. The day's action will start with Hope playing Saint Mary's (Ind.) College at 11 a.m. The Comets will play Saint Mary's at 1:30 p.m., followed by a 4 p.m. match between Olivet and Hope.
