Volleyball team falls to Albion and Calvin in MIAA Tri-Match
The Olivet College volleyball team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association foes Albion College and Calvin College tonight in a MIAA Tri-Match at the Upton Center.

The Olivet College volleyball team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association foes Albion College and Calvin College tonight in a MIAA Tri-Match at the Upton Center.
In its first match against Albion, Olivet dropped a 30-12, 30-15, 30-26 decision. Junior outside hitter Jamie Hutchison (Freeland High School) led the Lady Comet attack with seven kills. She was followed by sophomore outside hitter Staci Hawley (Sparta/Kent City High School) and freshman middle hitter Lori Graham (Alpena High School) with four kills a piece. Freshman Sarah Geasler (Laingsburg High School) had a team-high 16 set assists. Both Hawley and sophomore Kendra Gilbert (Frankfort High School) led the defense with eight digs.
In their second match, the Lady Comets fell to MIAA leader Calvin 30-22, 30-20, 30-10. Hawley recorded a team-high seven kills, and Graham had four. Geasler topped the team with 15 sets. Freshman libero Danelle Snyder (Union City High School) led the defense with 10 digs.
The Lady Comets (3-13, 0-7 MIAA) are next in action on Saturday, Oct. 4 when they participate in the Wheaton (Ill.) College Thunder Classic.
