Eldridge selected MIAA Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The University of Olivet senior London Eldridge has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Eldridge rank the second leg of the 4x100-meter relay, which won and broke the UOlivet record with a time of 49.88 seconds at the College of Wooster (Ohio) Invitational. The previous record was 50.36 seconds. In the 400-meter dash, Eldridge finished sixth and ran the third-fastest time in school history at 59.78 seconds. Both the relay time and her 400 time rank second in the MIAA this spring.
"London did an outstanding job in her first outdoor meet of the season, running in the 4x100-meter relay which broke the school record, setting a big personal best in the 400-meter and nearly a personal best in the 200-meter," said Olivet head coach Karen Lutzke. "She is one of the hardest-working student-athletes in our track and field program. London thrives in competitive situations and doesn't get down if something doesn't go well. She will just work harder to make any necessary corrections. We look forward to seeing London challenge herself for the remainder of the season."
Eldridge and the Comets are back in action Saturday at the Central Michigan University Chippewa Challenge.
