UOlivet men and women finish second and third at Comet Triangular

OLIVET, Mich. – Sophomore Owen Fremeau broke two school records, while seniors Morgan Jeffries and Emily Norkowski both won two events, as The University of Olivet men's and women's outdoor track and field teams were second and third at the Comet Triangular.
FOR THE COMET MEN
- The Comets totaled 133 points. Albion College finished first with 159 points, while Alma College was third with 94 points
- Fremeau won and posted UOlivet outdoor records in the shot put (52 feet) and hammer throw (179 feet, 2 inches). He was also first in the discus throw (150 feet).
- Senior Kameron Newman finished first in the long jump (22 feet, 8-1/2 inches).
- On the track, first-place performances were by sophomore Deegan Bodell in the 5,000-meter run (16:33.06) and sophomore Luke Leighton in the 400-meter hurdles (58.07).
- Sophomore Kyle Redd was second in the 100-meter dash (10.91).
- Junior Kem Blassingame had the second-fastest time in the 110-meter hurdles (15.81).
- Sophomore Brenden Castillo placed second in the 2,000-meter steeplechase (7:08.71).
FOR THE COMET WOMEN
- The Comets recorded 104 points. Albion was first with 125 points, followed by Alma (114).
- Jeffries won the 100-meter dash (12.70) and 200-meter dash (26.97).
- Norkowski took first-place in the 100-meter hurdles (15.30) and triple jump (34 feet, 5-3/4 inches).
- Freshman Jaelah Sloan led a 1-2 Comet finish in the long jump. Both her and freshman Lovelyn Ketepa had matching 16 feet, 5 inches mark, but Sloan was awarded first-place points for a better second mark.
- Senior Lily Connelly finished second in the 800-meter run (2:33.96).
- Freshman Kelah Hodge was second in the pole vault (9 feet, 1/2 inch).
- Freshman Brooke Jankwietz placed second in the shot put (37 feet, 1/4 inch).
- Freshman Lily Russell had the second-best mark in the hammer (128 feet, 11 inches).

- Olivet competes next Friday and Saturday, April 4-5, at the College of Wooster (Ohio) Invitational.
