Four personal bests and 10 season bests highlight women’s track and field team at GVSU / Al Owens Classic

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Olivet College women's track and field team posted four personal best performances and 10 season bests today at the Grand Valley State University / Al Owens Classic.

• Two of the personal bests came in the discus throw – junior Ashley Santo (124'4") and sophomore Berniah Alexander (100'4"). Santo's mark placed her second in the event.
• Sophomore Emily Norkowski clocked-in with a personal-best time of 16.11 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles and 27.71 seconds in the 200-meter dash.
• Freshmen Natalia Johnson and Michaela Nichols ran season-best times in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Johnson had times of 13.41 and 27.09 seconds, while Nichols finished in 14.72 and 30.99 seconds.
• The other season-best times were turned in by:
  • Junior Tonya Tepin in the 400-meter dash (1:05.12)
  • Senior Chelsea Perry in the 800-meter run (2:47.24)
  • Freshman Nadia Tijerina in the 800-meter run (3:00.72)
  • Freshman Sarah Grove in the 5,000-meter run (20:02.15)
  • 4x100-meter relay (52.89)
  • 4x400-meter relay (4:16.53)

• Olivet competes in the Davenport University Tune-up next Saturday, April 29.
