FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College senior Lillian Albaugh and junior Gabby Jolliff have been selected to the 2022 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Outdoor Track & Field team. The All-MIAA team is comprised of the event winners at the MIAA Field Day.
Albaugh captured the MIAA title in the shot put with a winning mark of 42 feet. She also placed fourth in the discus throw (114 feet, 10 inches).
Albaugh won the shot put title at every possible MIAA Track & Field Championship during her Olivet career, as she took first at the 2019, 2021 and 2022 MIAA Field Day, and the 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. We believe she is first student-athlete in school history to earn seven All-MIAA citations.
"For the past four years, Lillie has dominated the shot put in the conference," said Olivet head coach Karen Lutzke. "She is a leader and pushes herself and her teammates to be the best they can be every day. We are going to miss Lillie's drive, positive attitude, and work ethic next year."
Jolliff won the MIAA title in the pole vault, clearing a winning height of 10 feet, 2 inches. She also finished sixth in the high jump (4 feet, 10-1/4 inches) and ran a leg of the sixth-place 4x100-meter relay.
The league title is the first of Jolliff's Olivet career. Her previous best finish in the pole vault at a MIAA championship was second at the 2022 indoor meet.
"Gabby has been steadily improving in the pole vault over the past few years," stated Lutzke. "This year, she has been healthy and that has allowed her to train everyday with confidence and continue to set personal best marks. Gabby has been a big contributor to the team not only in the vault but also in a leadership role."
