Women’s track & field team, three individuals receive USTFCCCA academic honors
The Olivet College women’s track and field team along with three student-athletes, Lillian Albaugh, Noah Bailey and Tyler Peck, have received academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2019-20 academic year.
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Olivet College women's track and field team along with three student-athletes, Lillian Albaugh, Noah Bailey and Tyler Peck, have received academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2019-20 academic year.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Karen Lutzke, the Olivet women posted a 3.55 grade point average (GPA) to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors. The criteria for this award is a 3.1 or higher cumulative team GPA for the entire academic year. The women's team has earned this honor every year since 2010-11.
Albaugh, Bailey and Peck were selected for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual award. The criteria for selection is 3.30 or higher cumulative GPA and met one of the following athletic standards, 1) must have finished the indoor season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS. 2) Must have competed as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams (one relay team per institution is eligible) as listed on the indoor descending order list on TFRRS.
A sports recreation management major, Albaugh was ranked No. 38 in the shot put on the TFRRS list. She holds Olivet's indoor and outdoor record holder in the event. Albaugh is being honored for a second straight year.
An information technology major, Bailey was ranked No. 36 in the long jump and No. 49 in the triple jump on the TFRRS list. He is the school-record holder in both events. Bailey is now a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree.
An insurance and risk management major, Peck was a part of the 21st-ranked 4x400-meter relay. He is also earning the honor for a second straight season. Bailey also ran a leg of this relay. The duo helped set the school indoor and outdoor record in the event.
