Men’s indoor track & field team ties for fourth-place at MIAA Championships, women finish in seventh-place
ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams tied for fourth-place and the Comet women finished in seventh-place at the 2020 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships. Trine (Ind.) University hosted the championships inside the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic & Recreation Center. Olivet crowned two individual event champions and one relay champion.

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College men's and women's indoor track & field teams tied for fourth-place and the Comet women finished in seventh-place at the 2020 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships. Trine (Ind.) University hosted the championships inside the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic & Recreation Center. Olivet crowned two individual event champions and one relay champion.
- Senior Noah Bailey led a Comet 1-2 finish in the in the long jump with a school-record 23 feet, 1/2 inch leap. Freshman Jordon Butler was second, 1/2 inch behind Bailey.
- The 4x400-meter relay team of freshman Jordon Brown, freshman William Reed, junior Tyler Peck and sophomore Kyle McDowell captured the MIAA title with a time of 3:24.49.
- McDowell helped Olivet finish 2-3 in the 400-meter dash. He was second in 50.04 seconds, followed by Brown in 50.71 seconds.
- Peck finished fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.43.
- Brown placed seventh in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.01 seconds.
- Butler was seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.41 seconds.
- The distance medley relay team of freshmen Chase Mendham, Zac Schneck, Noah Spiece and Ben Schmidt clocked-in with a second-place time of 10:48.98.
- Junior Jacob Smith took second in the shot put with a 51 feet, 3/4 inch toss.
- Freshman Denver Orlando finished fourth in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 13 feet, 5-1/4 inches. Freshman Paul Muir scored seventh-place points in the pole vault (12 feet, 1-1/2 inch).
- Olivet's finish was the best in school history at the MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

- Sophomore Lillian Albaugh repeated as MIAA champion in the shot put. Her 42 feet, 9-3/4 inch mark was a season-best.
- The distance medley and 4x400-meter relay teams of freshman Hailei Manthei, sophomore Kaylee Richardson, freshman Savannah Baker and sophomore Taylor Thelen finished in seventh-place.
