Three school records highlight Olivet’s performance at Hillsdale Tune Up
HILLSDALE, Mich. – Three school records were broken, as the Olivet College men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams participated in the 2020 Hillsdale College Tune Up today at the Margot V. Biermann Center.

HILLSDALE, Mich. – Three school records were broken, as the Olivet College men's and women's indoor track and field teams participated in the 2020 Hillsdale College Tune Up today at the Margot V. Biermann Center.
- Freshman Jordon Butler placed second in the long jump (21 feet, 6-1/4 inches), fourth in the 60-meter dash (7.17) and fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.71). During the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles, he broke his own school record with a time of 8.54 seconds.
- Sophomore Kyle McDowell was third in the 200-meter dash with a school-record time of 22.89 seconds.
- Freshman Denver Orlando achieved a school record with a clearance of 14 feet, 1/2 inch in the pole vault.
- Senior Noah Bailey won both the long jump (22 feet, 1-1/2 inches) and triple jump (44 feet, 11-3/4 inches).
- Junior Tyler Peck ran a lifetime-best mark of 1:59.61 in the 800-meter run.
- Sophomore Jordan Robinson matched his personal-best with a time of 25.37 seconds in the 200-meter dash.
- Junior Jacob Smith finished second in the shot put with a mark of 52 feet, 6-3/4 inches.
- Posting season-best performances were:
- Tyler Chavalia in the 60-meter dash (7.20)
- John C Downey in the 60-meter hurdles (9.75)
- Bakari Muya in the 800-meter run (2:11.57)
- Denver Orlando in the pole vault (14 feet, 1/2 inch)
- Jake Zammitta in the shot put (42 feet, 3-1/2 inches) and weight throw (40 feet, 11 inches)
- Junior Natalie Klee ran personal-best times of 29.83 seconds in the 200-meter dash and 1:07.93 in the 400-meter dash.
- Sophomore Madison Dexter also had a lifetime-best in the 400-meter at 1:06.70.
- Season-best performance marks were turned in by:
- Savannah Baker in the 800-meter run (2:55.71)
- Ashley Santo in the shot put (29 feet, 11-1/2 inches) and weight throw (36 feet)
- Olivet now prepares for the 2020 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Indoor Track & Field Championships next Saturday, Feb. 29. Trine (Ind.) University is the host school.
