Olivet College’s Barber selected MIAA Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Olivet College sophomore Kimberly Barber has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. Barber is being honored for a second straight week, as she was named the MIAA Indoor Track Athlete of the Week last week.
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College sophomore Kimberly Barber has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. Barber is being honored for a second straight week, as she was named the MIAA Indoor Track Athlete of the Week last week.
At the Hillsdale Tune-Up on Feb. 18, Barber broke the school record in the triple jump with a 34 feet, 4 inch mark. The performance helped her place third in the event behind two student-athletes from Hillsdale. In addition, Barber finished fourth in the long jump (17 feet, 1/2 inch) and fifth in the 60-meter dash (8.23 seconds).
The Comets return to the track Saturday for the 2017 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships at Calvin College. Field events get under way at 9:30 a.m., followed by running events at 1:15 p.m.
