Women’s tennis team wins 5-4 thriller over Alma
MARSHALL, Mich. – The Olivet College women’s tennis team won a thrilling 5-4 decision over Alma College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) match this afternoon at Marshall High School.

MARSHALL, Mich. – The Olivet College women's tennis team won a thrilling 5-4 decision over Alma College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) match this afternoon at Marshall High School.

Records: Olivet 5-9 overall, 1-5 MIAA; Alma 2-6 overall, 0-3 MIAA
- The Comets won two-of-three doubles flights.
- The Scots leveled the team score with a win at No. 6 singles.
- Olivet then went ahead 4-2 after wins at No. 1 and No. 3 singles.
- Alma came back and tied the team score with a straight set win at No. 5 singles and a three-set win at No. 2 singles.
- The outcome was then decided when sophomore Ally Sears won a thrilling three-set decision at No. 4 singles.
- In doubles, the No. 2 duo of Sears and junior Emily Foulk coasted to an 8-2 win. The No. 1 team of sophomore Makenzie Borg and senior Desiree Luque Pradas won 8-5.
- Luque Pradas had an easy 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles.
- Borg won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
- At No. 4 singles, Sears claimed a 7-5 win in the first set before dropping a 6-4 decision for the second set. Sears then won the match a 6-1 win in the third set.
- Olivet end its season next week with two road matches. On Saturday, the Comets make the drive down I-69 to play Trine (Ind.) University at 11 a.m., and on Sunday, they play Kalamazoo College at 1 p.m.
