Women’s tennis team drops 5-4 match at Albion

ALBION, Mich. – The Olivet College women's tennis team came up on the losing end of a 5-4 score to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College this afternoon at the Ungrodt Tennis Center.

- With the Comets having only five available players, the Britons picked-up default victories at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
- Albion and Olivet split the two contested doubles matches to make the team score 3-1 entering singles play.
- The Britons earned a win at No. 5 singles to go up 4-1.
- The Comets won at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 singles to even the team score.
- Albion clinched the team win with a victory at No. 3 singles.
- The No. 1 doubles duo of senior Desiree Luque Pradas and sophomore Makenzie Borg posted an 8-2 pro-set win.
- Luque Pradas cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles.
- Borg won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
- Sophomore Ally Sears tallied a 6-0, 6-1 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
- Olivet hosts Alma College Sunday at 12 p.m. Weather permitting, the match will be part of a tennis doubleheader at Marshall High School, as the Comet men are also playing the Scots.
