The Olivet College women’s tennis team beat Huntington (Ind.) University, 7-2, in a non-conference match today indoors at the Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Olivet College women's tennis team beat Huntington (Ind.) University, 7-2, in a non-conference match today indoors at the Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets won all three doubles flights and four-of-six singles flights to pull out the 7-2 win.
FOR THE COMETS
- In doubles, the No. 1 duo of juniors Maddy Drikakis and BreAnne Rudlaff rallied from a 6-3 deficit to win a 9-8 pro-set. The No. 2 duo of sophomores Rae Claramunt and Rachael Hager coasted to an 8-1 win. The No. 3 duo of freshman Miranda Pier and senior Isabel Snyder won by default since the Foresters did not have enough players to field a starting lineup.
- In singles, Rudlaff won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, at the No. 3 position. Snyder clinched Olivet's victory, winning 6-4, 6-4 at No. 4. Pier earned a 6-3, 7-6 (3) win at No. 5. Claramunt picked-up the default victory at No. 6.

- Olivet begins Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play next Wednesday, March 30, with a 3 p.m. match at Hope College.
