Women’s tennis team blanked by Alma, 9-0, in MIAA and home opener
The Olivet College women’s tennis team was shutout by Alma College, 9-0, in its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) and home-opener this afternoon at the Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Olivet College women's tennis team was shutout by Alma College, 9-0, in its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) and home-opener this afternoon at the Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek.
The closest match in doubles play came at the No. 2 flight, where freshman Sarah Crittenden (Metamora/Lapeer East) and sophomore Courtney Kidder (Davison) lost an 8-4 pro-set. In singles play, senior Caitlin LaValley (Battle Creek/Pennfield) fell in a close straight set loss. She lost the first set 7-6 on a 7-4 tiebreaker, and had a lead in the second set before falling 7-5.
The Comets will travel to play Hope College next Tuesday, March 26, at 4 p.m.
