Seventy-nine Olivet College student-athletes have been named to the 2010-11 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) honor roll.

Three Olivet College teams have received the 2010-11 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) team GPA award. This award is presented to conference teams who achieve a 3.300 or better grade point average for the entire academic year.

The Olivet College women’s tennis team has received the All-Academic Team Award from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). In addition, five members of the women’s tennis team have received ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades.

Olivet College sophomore Caitlin LaValley (Battle Creek/Pennfield) has earned 2011 All-MIAA second-team honors in women’s tennis. The honor was announced at the conclusion of today’s MIAA Tournament at Kalamazoo College.

The women’s tennis team lost two matches today at the 2011 MIAA Tournament today at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo. In the first match, the Comets fell to the host Hornets, 5-1, and in their back draw match, they lost to Alma College, 5-3.

The women’s tennis team was shutout by Albion College, 9-0, today indoors at the Ungrodt Tennis Center in Albion.

The women’s tennis team was defeated by Calvin College, 8-1, today at the MSU Tennis Facility in East Lansing.

The women’s tennis team fell to Kalamazoo College, 7-2, in a MIAA match today at the MSU Tennis Facility in East Lansing.

The women’s tennis team lost 7-2 to MIAA rival Saint Mary’s College this afternoon at the Eck Tennis Pavilion in Notre Dame, Ind.

The women’s tennis team had its winning streak snapped at five with a tough 5-4 loss against Adrian College in a MIAA match inside the Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek. The match was originally scheduled to be played yesterday at Adrian, but the cold weather forced the match indoors tonight.

The women’s tennis team won a pair of matches today at the Lakeland Athletic Club in Niles. The Comets blanked Calumet College-St. Joseph (Ind.), 9-0, and then defeated Judson (Ill.) University, 8-1.
