Women’s swimming team loses 138-65 to Alma

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women’s swimming team fell to Alma College, 138-65, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association dual meet today at the Upton Center Pool.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's swimming team fell to Alma College, 138-65, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association dual meet today at the Upton Center Pool.

  • Junior Jennifer Mann was a double winner, as she touched the wall first in the 500 freestyle (5:29.34) and 1000 freestyle (11:17.20).
  • Freshman Bridgette Shroll won the 200 freestyle (2:02.66).
  • Posting second-place finishes were freshman Makaila Dodd in the 100 butterfly (1:08.62), Shroll in the 100 freestyle (57.16) and freshman Sarah Steffens in the 100 backstroke (1:06.76).
  • The 200 medley relay quartet of Steffens, Shroll, Mann and freshman Kelsee Lawson placed second at 2:01.99.

  • The Comets will compete at a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Triangular next Friday, January 20, at Hope College. Olivet will compete against the host Flying Dutch and Kalamazoo College.
