FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College sophomore Jennifer Mann has earned 2021-22 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Swimming & Diving honors. This honor is based on her performance at the 2022 MIAA Championship.
Mann earned top three finishes in each of her three individual events at the championship. She repeated as conference champion in the 1,650-yard freestyle, as well as took first-place in the 500-yard freestyle and tied for third-place in the 200-yard breaststroke. Mann's time in the finals of the 500 free (5:02.88) was a personal-best and ranks second all-time at Olivet. Her winning time in the 1,650 free (17:40.27) was a season best, while the leadoff 1,000 split (10:41.40) is a personal best and is second-best in school history. In addition, Mann's leadoff 200 split (1:54.39) in the 800-yard freestyle relay and 100 split (54.12) in the 400-yard freestyle relay rank second and fifth, respectively, all-time at Olivet. She is now a two-time All-MIAA selection.
"The entire Comet swimming and diving program is ecstatic about Jennifer's performance at the MIAA Championship," said Olivet head coach Rob Bronwell. "She had a great swim in the 500 free to capture an MIAA championship, a third-place place finish in the 200 breaststroke, as well as a repeat victory in the mile are all a testament to Jenn's work ethic, and her drive to constantly improve. She succeeds in the pool and the classroom and is exactly the right person to represent Olivet College on this stage."
