Swimming & diving teams drop dual meets at Calvin
The Olivet College men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams were defeated by Calvin College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association dual meets today at the Venema Aquatic Center in Grand Rapids. The Comet men lost 163-86, and the women fell 136-68.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's swimming & diving teams were defeated by Calvin College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association dual meets today at the Venema Aquatic Center in Grand Rapids. The Comet men lost 163-86, and the women fell 136-68.
- Men – Calvin def. Olivet, 163-86
- Women – Calvin def. Olivet, 136-68
- Freshman Kayla Eichaker won the 500-yard freestyle by almost five seconds with a time of 5:37.55.
- Junior Abbie Slater claimed the top spot on the one-meter diving board (178.15 points) and the three-meter diving board (192.15 points).
- The 400-yard freestyle relay team of senior Sabrina Butler, sophomore Keanalanimeleo'kekai Kunz, senior Delaney Graham and Eichaker finished first in 3:57.08.
- Butler placed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:10.11.
- Junior Eric Wood was a double winner, as he touched the wall first in the 100-yard backstroke (:57.09) and 200-yard individual medley (2:03.06).
- Junior Dalton Miner took first on both diving boards. He had 266.25 points on the one-meter and 245.60 points on the three-meter.
- Freshman Cade Erickson finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.08).
- The 200-yard medley relay team of Wood, freshman Zachary Knott, senior Bryan Plesner and junior Tom Decker was second in 1:44.20.
- The 400-yard freestyle relay quartet of junior Zach Meharg, freshman Brandon Burks, Knott and Wood placed second in 3:26.92.
- Olivet hosts Kalamazoo College next Friday, Feb. 1. Action at the Upton Center Pool gets under way at 5 p.m.
