Women's swimming and diving team places fourth at 2008 MIAA Championships
The Olivet College women’s swimming and diving team placed fourth at the 2008 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships at the Holland Aquatic Center. The Comets tallied 237 points and were only 19 points behind third-place Kalamazoo College. Calvin College was crowned the league champion with 660 points.

The highest finisher in Saturday's finals was the 400-yard freestyle quartet of Amy Johnson (Gaylord), Kelly Schulze (Kalamzoo/Central), Jami Lingbeek (Plainwell) and Kalee Redder (Grandville/Jenison) finished in third-place with a time of 3:42.32.
Johnson also placed fifth in the 100 freestyle (:53.83), and Redder was 12th (:56.55). In the 200 breaststroke, Erin Tramper (Jenison) finished sixth (2:33.42) and Lauren Siedlik (Livonia/Churchill) swam to a 10th-place finish (2:35.80).
Jackie Taylor (Plainwell) won the consolation final of the 200 backstroke (2:12.35) for a seventh-place overall finish. Lingbeek was ninth, 2:15.29. Heather Michalsen clocked-in at 2:18.82 to place 10th in the 200 butterfly.
In the 1,650 freestyle, Lisa Egelkraut (Battle Creek/Central) and Sarah Boyd (Napoleon, Ohio) were 10-11 with times of 18:47.24 and 18:49.37, respectively.
