Olivet lets lead slip away in 3-2 loss at Alma

ALMA, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's soccer team led Alma College, 2-0, before the Scots scored the final three goals for a 3-2 win in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contest this morning at Scotland Yard.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Comets took a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute on freshman Ava Harshbarger's first collegiate goal. Senior Katelyn White earned an assist on the goal.
• Olivet added to its lead a little more than five minutes left in the first half when sophomore Taylor Facca found the back of the net.
• The Scots answered less than two minutes later to make the score 2-1 at halftime.
• Alma scored the equalizer in the 67th minute and what proved to be the winning goal in the 73rd minute.
• The Comets had a couple shots saved by the keeper in the final seven minutes of the game.

FOR THE COMETS

• Olivet recorded nine shots, including eight on-goal.
• Harshbarger tallied four shots on-goal.
• Senior Sarah Willard allowed the three goals and had three saves in 85 minutes of action in goal.

• The Comets close out their season next Wednesday, October 30, when they host Trine (Ind.) University. Game time from the Cutler Athletic Complex is 4 p.m.
