Olivet shutout by Kalamazoo, 3-0

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 shutout loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Kalamazoo College today at the Cutler Athletic Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Hornets scored their first goal in the 25th minute on Callie Abair's goal.
• The Comets had a couple scoring chances, but the score stayed 1-0 at the halftime break.
• Early in the second half, freshman Jillian Ostrowski missed right on two shots.
• Kalamazoo added to its lead in the 24th minute of the second half. Ruby Hogan converted a penalty kick goal after a teammate was fouled inside the box.
• The Hornets extended their lead to 3-0 less than two minutes later when Abair found the back of the net after receiving a pass from Maeve Nolan.

FOR THE COMETS

• For the game, Olivet tallied eight shots compared to 21 for Kalamazoo.
• Ostrowski led the way with three shots. Five other players each took one shot.
• Senior Sarah Willard collected 12 saves, while playing 90 minutes in goal.
