Women’s soccer team ties Albion, 1-1
The Olivet College women’s soccer team tied Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College, 1-1, in double overtime today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team tied Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College, 1-1, in double overtime today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

- The Comets led 1-0 in the third minute. Junior Grace White's shot clanged off the cross bar. Sophomore Lauren Maybee gathered the rebound and her shot found the back of the net.
- The Britons wasted no time in leveling the score just three minutes and 14 seconds later.
- Olivet had more chances to score the go-ahead goal in the first half, out-shooting Albion 8-6.
- Neither team was able to get a goal in the second half, sending the game to overtime.
- In the first extra period, sophomore Mekenzie Lamb saved three Briton shots.
- Both teams had a shot saved by the keeper in the five minutes of the second overtime stanza.
- Junior Chelsie Smith ripped two shots off the cross bar in the final four minutes of the overtime period.
- Olivet tallied 16 shots in the game.
- Smith and senior Abby Radcliffe each registered four shots. Three of Radcliffe's shots were on-goal.
- Lamb made nine saves, while playing all 110 minutes in goal.
- Albion recorded 18 shots, including seven for Clare Kelley.
- Haley Demers was in goal for the entire game and had six saves.
- The Comets have now played four straight overtime games, settling for draws in three.
- Overall, Olivet has gone to overtime in five games this season. That total matches the 2015 season for the most overtime games in one season in school history.
