OLIVET, Mich. – Senior Maya Prewitt's golden goal in the first overtime period helped the Olivet College women's soccer team beat Greenville (Ill.) University, 2-1, in its home-opener this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

- The Panthers took a 1-0 lead on a goal in the fourth minute.
- Olivet evened the score at 1-1 in the 17th minute. Junior Chelsie Smith sent a free kick into the box, where sophomore Lauren Maybee headed the ball into the net at the far post.
- Both teams had strong scoring chances but the score remained 1-1 at halftime.
- Neither team was able to score a goal in the second half despite some solid opportunities.
- The Comets won possession to start the overtime period. After a couple touches, Prewitt had the ball on her foot and rocketed a shot from 40 yards out into the center of the goal.
- Olivet finished the game with a 15-10 advantage in total shots.
- Smith and senior Abby Radcliffe each took three shots.
- Sophomore Mekenzie Lamb earned the win in goal. She made four saves.
- Jen De Leon De Leon tallied four shots and Greenville's lone goal.
- Marjory Coates was the losing goalkeeper. She collected six saves.
- Olivet rests tonight and hosts Heidelberg (Ohio) University tomorrow at 4 p.m.
