OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team fell to Hope College, 3-0, this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
The Flying Dutch opened their scoring in the 14th minute when they scored on a breakaway goal. Hope added to its lead with 52 seconds left before halftime on a header. The score stayed that way until there was seven minutes and 47 seconds left in the contest when the Dutch scored on a header to the near post.
The Comets were limited to five total shots, including two for senior Jenna Mayle (Ionia). Sophomore Deanna Zolnoski (Macomb/Henry Ford II) faced 23 shots, 10 on-goal, and made seven saves, while playing all 90 minutes.
Olivet will be on the road for two games next week, beginning Tuesday, Oct. 22, against Alma College at 4 p.m.
