ADRIAN, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team was shutout by Adrian College, 2-0, tonight at Performance Stadium in Adrian.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a goal from Sam Barker in the seventh minute, and that would be the only goal they would need. Barker added an insurance goal with a little less than 15 minutes left in the game.
Adrian finished the game with a 16-7 advantage in total shots, including 10-5 edge in shots on-goal. Sophomore Kaylee Liddle (Clarkston) had four shots for the Comets, with all four being placed on-goal. Freshman Deanna Zolnoski (Macomb/Henry Ford II) played the entire game in goal and collected eight saves.
Olivet returns to the pitch Saturday night when it plays a 6 p.m. game at Trine (Ind.) University. The game is a part of a soccer doubleheader at Trine, as the Comet men will play the Trine men after the women's game at approximately 8 p.m.
