OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Calvin College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) game this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
There was no score after the first 45 minutes of play. The Knights, who entered the game leading the MIAA with 21 goals, broke up the scoreless game with a goal in the 63rd minute. A cross by Taylor TenHarmsel was sent across into the box, where Paige Capel buried her shot from five yards to the near post.
Offensively, the Comets were held to six total shots, including two for freshman Jordyn MacKool (Berkley). Freshman Deanna Zolnoski (Macomb/Henry Ford II) was brilliant in goal, facing 22 shots (seven on-goal) and making five saves.
Olivet will play its next five games on the road, beginning Thursday when it travels to play MIAA rival Albion College. Game time at Alumni Field is 4 p.m.
