Women’s soccer team loses to Albion, 2-1
The Olivet College women’s soccer team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Albion College, 2-1, this afternoon at Alumni Field in Albion.

The Olivet College women's soccer team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Albion College, 2-1, this afternoon at Alumni Field in Albion.
The Britons got on the scoreboard in the 16th minute on a goal by Kelly Stetser. The score remained 1-0 at halftime. Albion added an unassisted goal in the 68th minute. Olivet scored its goal with just 1:01 left in the game when sophomore Ashley Buyce (Portage/Portage Central) found the back of the net for her third goal of the season. Senior Kellie O'Dowd (Jackson) was credited with an assist after her shot hit the cross bar.
The Comets were led by freshmen Faith Hatt (Rochester Hills/Rochester Adams) and Lizzy Julian (Mattawan) who collected four shots apiece. Three of Hatt's shots were on-goal. Buyce had three shots, two on-goal. Sophomore keeper Sarah Westen (Grand Ledge) faced 15 shots, while making 10 saves.
Olivet will close out the regular season portion of its schedule Wednesday, Oct. 29 with a 4 p.m. game at Kalamazoo College. A win would move the Comets into the sixth seed for the MIAA Tournament, which begins next Saturday.
