Women’s soccer team routs Trine, 7-1
Five different players scored a goal and another six different players recorded an assist, the Olivet College women’s soccer team routed Trine (Ind.) University, 7-1, Saturday at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

Five different players scored a goal and another six different players recorded an assist, the Olivet College women's soccer team routed Trine (Ind.) University, 7-1, Saturday at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
Freshman Lizzy Julian (Mattawan) tallied her team-leading 13th goal of the season in the 18th minute off a pass from senior Cori Barrera (East Lansing). In the 24th minute, Barrera and freshman Faith Hatt (Rochester Hills/Rochester Adams) assisted on a goal by senior Kellie O'Dowd (Jackson).
The Comets made the score 3-0 with a goal just 4:51 left before halftime when sophomore Katie Koralewski (Sterling Heights/Stevenson) found the back of the net. O'Dowd and freshman Justine Zachos (Charlotte/Fowlerville) were credited with assists.
Off a pass from fellow senior Megan Reardon (Macomb/Chippewa Valley), O'Dowd added her second goal of the game in the 66th minute. At the 74:08 mark, Hatt scored with Zachos earning the assist.
Olivet stretched its lead to 6-0 behind an unassisted goal by Koralewski at the 76:29 mark. The Thunder got on the scoreboard in the 83rd minute. The Comets closed their scoring when sophomore Ashley Buyce (Portage/Northern) knocked in a shot off a pass from sophomore Chrissy Moulton (Royal Oak/Shrine).
Offensively, Olivet out-shot Trine, 42-5, including a dominating 27-5 advantage in shots-on-goal. Buyce, Koralewski and sophomore Amanda Loudin (Marshall) each tallied seven shots. Sophomores Sarah Westen (Grand Ledge) and Leanne Scudder (St. Joseph/Lakeshore) played the first and second half, respectively, in goal, and tallied one save each.
