The Olivet College women's soccer team opened its 2008 season with a 2-0 loss to Wilmington College tonight at Gilhart Field in Wilmington, Ohio.
The Quakers scored a goal in each half to pull out the victory. The Comets (0-1) finished the game with eight shots, including three by senior Cori Barrera (East Lansing) and two by sophomore Katie Koralewski (Sterling Heights/Stevenson). Sophomore Sarah Westen (Grand Ledge) faced 17 shots, nine on-goal, and made seven saves.
Olivet will head north on I-71 and stop to play Wittenberg (Ohio) University tomorrow at 4 p.m.
