Women’s soccer team opens MIAA play with 3-1 win against Saint Mary’s
The Olivet College women’s soccer team opened Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play with a 3-1 win against Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

The Olivet College women's soccer team opened Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play with a 3-1 win against Saint Mary's (Ind.) College this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
Freshman Lizzy Julian (Mattawan) scored a pair of goals in a span of four minutes in the first half. Freshman Faith Hatt (Rochester Hills/Rochester Adams) earned an assist on both goals. The score remained 2-0 at halftime.
In the second half, the Comets made the score 3-0 with a goal by senior Cori Barrera (East Lansing) in the 75th minute. The Belles got on the scoreboard in the 81st minute.
For the game, Olivet had 27 shots, including 14 on-goal. Julian led the way with nine. In goal, sophomore Sarah Westen (Grand Ledge) made eight saves on 16 shots.
Olivet will be off for one week and travel to play Adrian College next Saturday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m.
