Women’s soccer team defeats Anderson (Ind.), 2-1
The Olivet College women’s soccer team defeated Anderson (Ind.) University, 2-1, in a first round game of the John Carroll University Classic this afternoon at Don Shula Stadium in University Heights, Ohio.

The Olivet College women's soccer team defeated Anderson (Ind.) University, 2-1, in a first round game of the John Carroll University Classic this afternoon at Don Shula Stadium in University Heights, Ohio.
The Comets took a 1-0 lead at halftime behind the first collegiate goal for freshman Faith Hatt (Rochester Hills/Rochester Adams) in the 20th minute. Sophomore Ashley Buyce (Portage/Central) was credited with an assist on Hatt's goal. Olivet added what proved to be the game-winner in the sixth minute of the second half. Senior Cori Barrera (East Lansing) knocked in a shot past the keeper. The Ravens scored their goal with just 19 seconds left in the game.
Hatt finished the game with a team-leading six shots, including five on-goal. Barrera and freshman Amanda Loudin (Holland/Hamilton) each took two shots. In goal, sophomore Megan Colby (Cedar Springs) faced six shots and made two saves.
Olivet will play the host Blue Streaks tomorrow at 2 p.m. John Carroll shutout Culver-Stockton (Mo.) College, 12-0, in the other first round game.
