Two women’s soccer players earn All-MIAA honors
Two Olivet College women’s soccer players -- freshman forward Lizzy Julian (Mattawan) and senior defender Kellie O’Dowd (Jackson) -- have earned 2008 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) second-team honors.
Two Olivet College women's soccer players -- freshman forward Lizzy Julian (Mattawan) and senior defender Kellie O'Dowd (Jackson) -- have earned 2008 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) second-team honors. All-MIAA honors are based on a player's stats in MIAA play.
Among the MIAA leaders, Julian tied for first with seven goals and was second in points with 15. O'Dowd was the anchor of the Comet defense and tallied 11 points (four goals and three assists). Two of her goals were penalty kicks. For the entire season, Julian played in 14 games and led the league in scoring with 35 points (16 goals and three assists), O'Dowd had 13 points (five goals and three assists).
Olivet finished the 2008 season with a 7-9-2 overall record and 3-5-1 MIAA mark.
