Women’s soccer team and players receive awards from NSCAA
The Olivet College women’s soccer team has been recognized with awards from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
The Olivet College women's soccer team has been recognized with awards from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
The team has received the 2008 NSCAA Ethics/Sportsmanship Award. The Comets were one of 66 teams to earn the honor, with the award being presented to teams who received no red cards and less than 10 yellow cards during the 2008 season. Olivet received the silver award because it had fewer than five yellow cards.
In addition, senior midfielder Cori Barrera (East Lansing) was named to the 2008 NSCAA Scholar All-Central region third-team. She carries a 3.51 grade point average (GPA) in marketing and management. Senior defenders Megan Reardon (Macomb/Chippewa Valley) and Katie Wolf (Marshall) earned honorable mention All-Region honors. Reardon has a 3.61 GPA in biology with a pre-medicine concentration. Wolf has a 3.65 GPA in insurance/risk management.
