The Olivet College women's soccer team played to a 0-0 double overtime draw today at Saint Mary's (Ind.) College.
The Belles (5-1-4, 1-0-2 MIAA) had a chance to take the lead with 3:33 left in the first half but a Bridget Ronaye's penalty kick was stopped by Comet keeper Sarah Westen (Grand Ledge). She also made a brilliant save late in the second half, saving a shot that first ricocheted off the cross bar and then to the head of Saint Mary's player.
For the game, Westen faced 17 shots, made 12 saves. Olivet (5-4-2, 0-2-1 MIAA) was limited to eight shots, including four by senior co-captain Shannah Fisher (Delton/Delton-Kellogg).
The Comets will take a break from league play Monday, Oct. 1, when they travel to play Huntington (Ind.) University at 4 p.m.
