Women's soccer team defeats Concordia Chicago, 4-2, for third straight win
The Olivet College women’s soccer team extended its winning streak to three games with a 4-2 win against Concordia University Chicago today in Olivet.

The Olivet College women's soccer team extended its winning streak to three games with a 4-2 win against Concordia University Chicago today in Olivet.
Senior Shannah Fisher (Delton/Delton-Kellogg) put the Comets on the scoreboard in the 29th minute. Off a corner kick by junior Megan Reardon (Macomb/Chippewa Valley), Fisher tapped the ball past the keeper. Reardon scored a goal with 1:52 left before halftime. Freshman Ashley Buyce (Portage/Portage Northern) and senior Anna Mueller (Battle Creek/Pennfield) each recorded an assist.
Olivet extended its lead to 3-0 in the 73rd minute. From 15 yards out, junior Nicole Babcock (Three Rivers) crossed the ball into the box, and Fisher kicked the ball past the goalie. The Comets closed their scoring in the 78th minute. Off a free kick by Reardon, Babcock headed the ball down to the feet of Boyce, who knocked it into the goal. Kari Zielke scored two goals for the Cougars in a span of just over one minute.
Olivet tallied 45 shots, including 24 shots on-goal. Buyce led the way with eight shots, followed by Fisher and junior Cori Barrera (East Lansing) with seven and six, respectively. In goal, freshman Leanne Scudder (St. Joseph) faced two shots.
The Comets (3-0) return to the field tomorrow when they host John Carroll (Ohio) University at 1 p.m. John Carroll fell to Albion College, 4-1, today at Alumni Field in Albion.
