The Olivet College women’s soccer team beat Lake Erie (Ohio) College, 2-0, today in its season-opener at the La Roche (Pa.) College Cup. The Comets will play La Roche tomorrow at 1 p.m.

The Olivet College women's soccer team beat Lake Erie (Ohio) College, 2-0, today in its season-opener at the La Roche (Pa.) College Cup. The Comets will play La Roche tomorrow at 1 p.m.
The Comets scored their goals in the second half. In the 77th minute, freshman Katie Koralewski (Sterling Heights/Stevenson) found the back of the net off a pass from junior Cori Barrera (East Lansing). Olivet added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute when freshman Sarah Weston (Grand Ledge) scored. Junior Katie Wolf (Marshall) earned the assist on the goal.
The Comets had 14 shots, including eight on-goal, in the game. Barrera took four shots, while senior Shannah Fisher (Delton/Delton-Kellogg) added three. Weston played the first half in goal and made one save. Freshman Megan Colby (Cedar Springs) was the keeper in the second half and collected three saves.
Following tomorrow's game, Olivet will host Concordia (Ill.) University Friday, Sept. 7, at 3:30 p.m.
