The Comets (6-7-1, 6-5-1 MIAA) scored first with six minutes, 10 seconds left in regulation. Freshman Kellie O'Dowd (Jackson) passed the ball to freshman Megan Reardon (Macomb/Chippewa Valley), who shot it into the back of the net. The Belles (8-6-1, 7-4-1 MIAA) forced overtime with a goal in the 87th minute.
Olivet finished the game with 14 shots, including two each by six different players. In goal, sophomore Bre Bath-Simonsen (Mason) played the entire game, facing 17 shots and making nine saves.
Olivet travels to play Hope College Saturday, Oct. 22 at noon.
