Women's soccer team defeats Alma, 2-0
Freshman forward Shannah Fisher (Delton Kellogg High School) scored two first half goals to lift the Olivet College women's soccer team to a 2-0 shutout victory Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Alma College this afternoon in Olivet.

Freshman forward Shannah Fisher (Delton Kellogg High School) scored two first half goals to lift the Olivet College women's soccer team to a 2-0 shutout victory Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Alma College this afternoon in Olivet.
Fisher scored her first goal from 18 yards out after receiving a cross from senior Jaime Stenz (Alpena High School) at the 8:51 mark. Sophomore Kelli McKee (Canton High School) served the ball to sophomore Stacey Stickney (St. Joseph High School), who flicked the ball to Fisher for a goal with 2:51 left before halftime. The score remained 2-0 at halftime. The teams combined for just three shots in the second half.
The Lady Comets (8-11, 6-9 MIAA) outshot Alma, 11-2. Fisher had four shots while Stickney was credited with three. In goal, sophomore Dani Jacobs (Suttons Bay High School) played the entire game and made one save.
Olivet will end the 2004 season Saturday, Nov. 6 with a noon game at Albion College.
With the loss, the Scots have a 7-11-1 overall record and 6-8-1 MIAA mark.
