Lady Comet soccer team upsets Saint Mary's, 4-1, Stickney scores four goals
Sophomore Stacey Stickney (St. Joseph High School) scored four goals to lead the Olivet College women's soccer team to 4-1 upset victory over Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College today in Olivet.

College today in Olivet. Prior to the game, Saint Mary's (4-1-1, 3-1-1 MIAA) was tied for first-place in the MIAA standings.
Stickney scored the first Lady Comets' (4-4-0, 2-2-0 MIAA) first goal at the 12:10 mark off a pass by sophomore Ann Marie Keisic (Sterling Heights/Warren Cousino High School). The Belles tied the game four minutes later with an unassisted goal by Katie Noble.
Stickney scored on a penalty kick in the 37th minute of the contest. Just under two minutes later, she stretched the Olivet lead to 3-1 with sophomore Kris Dickinson (Cadillac High School) receiving credit for an assist. Stickney closed the scoring after finding the back of the net at the 73:09 mark. Freshman Shannon Fisher (Delton Kellogg High School) earned an assist.
For the game, the Comets had nine shots, including six by Stickney. In goal, junior Gretchen Ford (Harbor Springs High School) played brilliantly, facing 18 shots while making 11 saves.
Olivet will look to extend its winning streak Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Adrian College at 4 p.m.
