Kamali finishes seventh at NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The University of Olivet senior Benyamin Kamali finished seventh-place in the 125-pound bracket to earn All-American honors at the 2025 NCAA Championships at the Amica Mutual Pavilion. He receives the 25th All-American award in UOlivet history.
In today's first match, Kamali lost 11-2 to Jake Craig from Southern Maine University. Kamali bounced back to defeat Keito Shaw from Alvernia (Va.) University, 10-4, in the seventh-place match. After giving up an early takedown, Kamali escaped eight seconds later before scoring a takedown in the final seconds of the first period for a 4-3 lead. He earned another escape point in the second period. Wrestling on top to begin the third period, Kamali used a tilt to score a three-point near fall. Shaw escaped but Kamali earned the riding time point for the 10-4 win.
