ANGOLA, Ind. – The University of Olivet wrestling team defeated Trine (Ind.) University, 32-8, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) dual match this evening at Hershey Hall.

- The Comets earned wins in 8-of-10 bouts.
- Olivet scored bonus points in three of the wins.
- At 125 pounds, junior Emmett Kettel got the Comets off to a quick start with a 20-5 technical fall win.
- The Thunder evened the score at 5-5 with a 16-0 technical fall victory at 133 pounds.
- Olivet won the next three bouts by decision.
- At 141 pounds, senior Dylan Phelps eked out a 5-4 win. The winning point was an escape in the third period.
- At 149 pounds, junior Tyler Herrema posted a 5-1 victory.
- At 157 pounds, junior Ramiro Guerrero won 10-5.
- Trine won the 165-pound match by a 7-6 final.
- At 174 pounds, senior Mitchell Reynolds stretched the Comet advantage to 17-8 with an 11-4 decision.
- At 184 pounds, sophomore Gideon Loewen claimed an injury default win.
- At 197 pounds, junior Kody Krupp edged his opponent, 8-6. A takedown in the third period provided the winning points.
- At 285 pounds, senior Donovan King ended the night with a 50-second pin.
- The Comets head to Wheaton (Ill.) College on Friday and Saturday for the Pete Willson Invitational. Action both days gets started at 11 a.m. CT.
