Olivet College’s King set to compete at NCAA Division III Wrestling Championship
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Olivet College junior Donovan King is ready to compete at the 2023 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championship, which starts tomorrow at the Berglund Center in Roanoke, Virginia.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Olivet College junior Donovan King is ready to compete at the 2023 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championship, which starts tomorrow at the Berglund Center in Roanoke, Virginia.
King received the No. 2 seed in the 285-pound bracket. He drew a prelim match to start the championship and will face Nate DeGroff from Rochester Institute of Technology (N.Y.). The winner of the match will slide into the 16-man bracket and wrestle Brandon Williams from Greensboro (N.C.) University.
King enters the championship with a 26-3 record. Of his 26 wins, 17 have been pins and three were technical falls. Two of King's losses were against NCAA Division I wrestlers at the Michigan State Open and the third was to No. 1 seed Jack Heldt from Wabash (Ind.) College in the regional final. DeGroff has a 30-8 record and placed second at the Mideast regional.
The first session starts Friday morning at 11 a.m., with the second session on Friday night beginning at 6 p.m.
