King places second, wrestling team finishes eighth at NCAA Division III Central Regional
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Junior Donovan King was the runner-up in the 285-pound bracket, as the Olivet College wrestling team finished eighth at the 2023 NCAA Division III Central Regional, hosted by Case Western Reserve (Ohio) University and at the Veale Center. With his finish, King punched his ticket a return trip to the 2023 NCAA Division III Championships March 10-11 in Roanoke, Virginia.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Junior Donovan King was the runner-up in the 285-pound bracket, as the Olivet College wrestling team finished eighth at the 2023 NCAA Division III Central Regional, hosted by Case Western Reserve (Ohio) University and at the Veale Center. With his finish, King punched his ticket a return trip to the 2023 NCAA Division III Championships.
- King won his semifinal match with a 39-second pin. The championship bout featured the King, the No. 1 ranked wrestler in the NWCA poll against Jack Heldt from Wabash (Ind.) College, the No. 2 ranked wrestler. Heldt won the match by a 5-2 score.
- Two Comets – sophomore Ramiro Guerrero at 157 pounds and senior Hiram Robinson at 197 pounds – placed sixth.
- Four Olivet wrestlers – junior Dylan Phelps at 133 pounds, sophomore Tyler Herrema at 149 pounds, senior Kam Bush at 165 pounds and junior Justin Carnahan at 184 pounds – finished in eighth-place.
- Olivet totaled 71 points.
- Baldwin Wallace (Ohio) University won the regional title with 175.5 points, followed by Ohio Northern with 153 points.
- King will compete at the 2023 NCAA Division III Championships March 10-11 at the Berglund Center in Roanoke, Virginia. The first session gets underway Friday morning at 11 a.m.
