WHEATON, Ill. – The Olivet College wrestling team placed 18th at the 81st Annual Wheaton (Ill.) College/Pete Willson Invitational inside King Arena.
- The Comets totaled 41.5 points.
- North Central (Ill.) College led the 32-team field with 136 points. University of Wis.-Eau Claire was second with 125 points.
- Sophomore Robert Davids was Olivet's top finisher, as he finished seventh in the 141-pound bracket.
- Two other Comets – senior Kam Bush and sophomore Ramiro Guerrero – placed eighth in their respective weight class.
- 141: Robert Davids – 4-2 record – 7th-place – lost 3-2 to Cade Lundeen (Concordia-Moorhead, Minn.), won by medical forfeit over Cameron Deville (Messiah, Pa.), won by medical forfeit over Vincent Menozzi (Chicago, Ill.), 6-4 SV-1 win over Dustin Smith (Roanoke, Va.), 6-1 loss to Jordan Carson (Millikin, Ill.), pinned Jake Matthews (Wis.-Eau Claire) in 2:46.
- 157: Ramiro Guerrero – 4-3 record – 8th-place – lost 14-3 to Michael Smith (Milwaukee School of Engineering, Wis.), pinned Christian Hite (Ferrum, Va.) in 2:35, won by medical forfeit over Wade Hodges (Wis.-Whitewater), won 13-9 over Tyler Bents (Concordia-Moorhead, Minn.), won 8-6 over Zack Schneider (Wis.-Eau Claire), pinned by Jaylen York (Ozarks, Ark.) in 2:12, lost by medical forfeit to Drew Vlasnik (Chicago, Ill.).

- The Comets compete at the 2023 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Individual Championships next Saturday, February 4. Adrian College is the host school.
