Seniors lead wrestling team to 24-13 win over Albion
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College wrestling team celebrated Senior Night with a 24-13 victory over Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College before a jam-packed crowd tonight inside the Cutler Event Center.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College wrestling team celebrated Senior Night with a 24-13 victory over Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College before a jam-packed crowd tonight inside the Cutler Event Center.

- Records: Olivet 10-8 overall, 3-0 MIAA; Albion 6-5 overall, 0-2 MIAA
- The match started at 184 pounds, where Albion won by major decision to go up 4-0.
- Olivet won the next two matches by decision at 197 pounds and pin at 285 pounds for a 9-4 lead.
- The Britons collected a decision win at 125 pounds to cut their deficit to 9-7.
- A forfeit victory pushed the Comets' lead to 15-7.
- The teams traded minor decision wins at 141 (Albion), 149 (Olivet) and 157 (Albion) to make the score 18-13.
- The Comets sealed their win with a win at 165 pounds and capped their win with another minor decision win at 174 pounds.
- At 197 pounds, senior Hiram Robinson used a takedown in the first period, a ride-out for the entire second period and another takedown in the third period to post a 5-1 win.
- At 285 pounds, junior Donovan King secured a body-lock before getting the pin with 1:22 left in the first period.
- At 133 pounds, sophomore Stuart Donlan received a forfeit victory.
- At 149 pounds, sophomore Tyler Herrema hung on for a 14-10 minor decision win.
- At 165 pounds, senior Kam Bush had two first-period takedowns to eke out an 8-4 win.
- At 174 pounds, senior Owen Guilford posted a 4-1 win. His points were a takedown in the first period, escape to start the second period and the riding time point at the end of the match.
- In an exhibition 165-pound match, senior Zach Potter won a 10-3 decision.
- Olivet is on the road next Tuesday, January 24, for its final MIAA dual match against Adrian College. The first varsity bout will start at 7 p.m. With a win, the Comets will secure a MIAA title for a fifth straight season.
