Wrestling team has seven podium finishes Trine Invitational
ANGOLA, Ind. – Seven podium finishes led the Olivet College wrestling team at the 2022 Trine (Ind.) University Invitational today at the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center.

ANGOLA, Ind. – Seven podium finishes led the Olivet College wrestling team at the 2022 Trine (Ind.) University Invitational today at the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center.
- The unscored invitational featured eight NCAA Division III schools, three NAIA institutions and one NJCAA school.
- The Comets had seven podium finishers – three second-places, two fourth-places, one fifth-place and one sixth-place.
- Sophomore Emmett Kettel was second in the 125-pound bracket. After a first-round bye, he posted back-to-back bonus point wins – 19-8 and 17-1. Kettel fell to Brendon Mark from Indiana Tech, 11-4, in the championship bout.
- Sophomore Tyler Herrema placed second at 149 pounds. He won his first three matches – 9-1, 12-8 and 11-0 – before dropping an 8-3 decision to Corey Cavanaugh from Indiana Tech in the championship match.
- Senior Kam Bush finished second in the 165-pound bracket. He earned wins in four matches (pin at 4:23, 10-1, 9-3 and 11-2) before taking a medical forfeit loss in the championship match.
- Sophomore Ramiro Guerrero posted a 4-2 record to finish fourth at 157 pounds. His wins were a pin, 16-0 tech fall, 8-7 decision and 7-3 decision.
- Freshman Jonathen Davis placed fourth at 165 pounds. Two of his wins were pins.
- Freshman Darren McLeod was fifth at 149 pounds.
- Freshman Luke Cortez finished sixth at 285 pounds.
